HC Deb 31 May 1933 vol 278 cc1882-3W
Captain DOWER

asked the Secretary, of State for the Colonies what are the rates of duty charged upon British cotton goods entering each Crown Colony, together with the amount of preference involved; and how these rates compare with those obtaining on or about 1st July, 1931?

Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTER

The rates at present in force are set out in a new edition, which is just about to appear, of the volume of "Tariffs of Non-self-governing Colonies." To prepare a statement of all the rates in force in 1931 would involve an amount of time and labour which I hardly think would be justified.
