§ Major ELLIOTI assume that the outbreak to which my hon. Friend refers is that at Kinver, Staffs, and the answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. This outbreak occurred among animals on a sewage farm, and the circumstances suggest that the outbreak may have been due to the introduction of virus on to the farm through the sewage effluent, although no definite proof has been obtainable. I am conferring with my right hon. Friend the Minister of Health on the question as to any action which may be possible with a view to the elimination of risk of infection from this source.
