§ Mr. RHYS DAVIESasked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that the final check on the validity of certificates of births, marriages and deaths issued by the Registrar-General is left to the typists to undertake in the ordinary course of their duties; and whether he will see to it that in future experienced officers are appointed to be responsible for this work?
Sir H. YOUNG:I can hardly accept the hon. Member's description of the duties of the typists in question. The nature and scope of the checks to be applied in the preparation of certified copies of birth, death and marriage entries for issue by the Registrar-General are, however, now under consideration.
