Sir H. YOUNGI regret that these figures are not available. Applications submitted by local authorities are often indefinite on the point of the number of houses to be provided, and, as regards the second part of the question, a number of applications are still under consideration. The number of houses so far approved under the proviso is approximately 6,000.
