The expenditure by His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom under the Empire Settlement Act, 1922, to 31st December, 1932, the latest convenient date, is as follows:

Detailed information is not available as to the amount of the expenditure incurred by other Governments, but the hon. and gallant Member will be aware that under the terms of the Act, any expenditure by His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom must be incurred in respect of agreed schemes and must not exceed in any case half the expenses of the scheme.
