asked the Minister of Transport the tonnage of merchandise which was carried between this country and the Continent by train ferries during the past 12 months and for each of the two preceding similar periods?

I am informed that the tonnages of merchandise carried between this country and the Continent by train ferries in the years 1931, 1932, and in the 48 weeks ended 2nd December, 1933, were as follow:
