§ Mr. PYBUSThe normal span between the towers proposed to be used by the Central Electricity Board is about 300 yards. The method of fixing to the ground depends upon the nature and condition of the soil. The ends of the four legs are anchored in concrete foundations and care, I understand, is taken to plant turf or shrubs round the base where that is necessary.
