§ Sir J. GILMOURResearch into bee diseases has not been conducted by my Department during the past 10 years. Some work has been carried out at Aberystwyth University College, which is aided by a grant from my Department, but I am unable to state what precise expenditure has been incurred. Research into other bee problems is undertaken at the Rothamsted Experimental Station, 1995W but this does not include investigations into disease. For information as to work on bee diseases carried out in Scotland, I would refer the hon. Member to my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland.
