HC Deb 21 April 1932 vol 264 cc1644-5W
Major LLEWELLIN

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury the names of the Civil Service organisations in possession of a certificate of approval under the Civil Service (Approved Associations) Regulations, 1927, who are not represented on the National Whitley Council of the Civil Service; and what opportunity has or will be given to any such organisations for stating their respective cases in the matter of the Government's offer concerning the consolidation of cost-of-living bonus?

Major ELLIOT

There are, at the present time, 262 Civil Service organisations in possession of certificates of approval under the Civil Service (Approved Associations) Regulations, 1927. Excluding purely Departmental Associations, the names of such organisations which are not represented on the National Whitley Council of the Civil Service are as follow:

  • United Association of Ex-Naval and Military Civil Servants.
  • Association of First Division Civil Servants.
  • Government Service Society.
  • Association of Ex-Service Civil Servants.
  • Council of Women Civil Servants (Higher Grades).
  • Civil Service Legal Society.
  • Government Buildings Employés Association.
  • Civil Service University and Professional Association.
  • Women Civil Servants Joint Committee.

Representations have, in fact, already been received from certain of these associations on the subject to which my hon. and gallant Friend refers, and will of course be considered.
