§ Mr. WHITERural telephone exchanges are established at normal tariff rates wherever a minimum of eight new subscribers is forthcoming and the cost of connection with the main system is not excessive. These exchanges are provided1002W and maintained at a substantial annual loss. If the hon. and gallant Member has any particular case in mind, I shall be happy to inquire into it.
