§ Mr. HEALYasked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware that ground maize imported from the Irish Free State into Northern Ireland is charged with a duty of 10 per cent., whereas a similar commodity from Britain or Northern Ireland can be imported into the Irish Free State free from such duty; and if he will consider some reciprocal arrangement in this matter?
§ Mr. RUNCIMANGround maize from the Irish Free State would not be liable to duty on importation into Northern Ireland if it satisfied the conditions prescribed in the Import Duties (Imperial Preference) Regulations of 1st March last, and in these circumstances the second part of the question would not appear to arise.
