asked the Minister of Labour what schemes submitted by the local authority and by other public bodies, respectively, to relieve unemployment in Sunderland have been agreed to; what schemes, if any, have been refused or are now under consideration; and the amounts of the grants in each case?

39 schemes submitted by the Sunderland Town Council, and four by other public bodies in Sunderland, have been approved. 10 schemes have been refused and eight are under consideration. The estimated cost of the schemes approved is £912,633.
