ADAMSONThe matter dealt with in the first part of the question is receiving the attention of the Departments concerned in connection with the representations recently made by the British Herring Trade Association. The scope of any proposed legislation cannot be determined at present, but I may say that the outstanding recommendations of the Trawling (Scottish) Committee, of which Lord Mackenzie was chairman, relate to matters which are not closely connected with the herring fishing industry.
