§ Miss BONDFIELDThe latest returns show 12,912 persons as directly employed on 26th June in connection with State-aided schemes in Lancashire, Of these, some 7,000 were known to be ex-service men. In addition 810 persons were employed on work in Lancashire and Cheshire in connection with the Mersey Tunnel. No information is available as to the number of War pensioners.
