Mr. ALEXANDERThe present number of aircraft available for service with the British Fleet is 142. Accurate figures showing the aircraft available for service with the United States and Japanese Fleets are not known, and cannot therefore be given, but from published information available it is estimated that the number for United States is 255, excluding 51 first line aircraft, which with their crews are carried in fleet tenders, and excluding also the shore based aircraft of the United States Naval Air Service.
