HC Deb 26 February 1931 vol 248 c2315W
Major NATHAN

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer the amount that he anticipates will be saved during the fiscal year 1931–32 by the proposed 10 per cent. cut in the Civil Service salaries; and how much thereof is attributable to savings on salaries and wages of £4 per week and less?

Mr. P. SNOWDEN

The Government have not proposed a 10 per cent. cut in Civil Service salaries. They have decided that the cost-of-living bonus shall be revised as from 1st March in accordance with the Cost-of-Living Bonus Agreement under which it is paid.
