HC Deb 11 December 1931 vol 260 cc2253-4W
Mrs. RUNGE

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the fact that in most foreign countries there are no exemptions from compulsory pilotage, he will consider the desirability of applying similar regulations to all vessels in British waters?

Major COLVILLE

As was explained to my hon. Friend in the reply to her question on the 8th instant., the exemptions from compulsory pilotage in this country arise under the Pilotage Act, 1913, and apply to all vessels, British and foreign. There does not appear to be any sufficient reason for changing the law in this respect.
