HC Deb 10 December 1931 vol 260 c2070W
Mr. McENTEE

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office what percentage reductions in the retired pay of commissioned officers of each rank have been imposed during the past three months; and whether the percentage is the same as that imposed on the reserve pay of non-commissioned officers and men?

Mr. COOPER

The standard rates of officers' pensions were reduced by 8 per cent. as from 1st July last in respect of the fall in the cost of living. An additional 3 per cent. deduction was made as from 1st October. As regards the reductions in the reserve pay of Army reservists, I would refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave him on 17th November.
