asked the First Lord of the Admiralty the total number of men in employment in each of the Royal Dockyards for the first quarter of 1930?

The figures required to supplement those given in reply to the question of the hon. Member on 17th March, 1930 [OFFICIAL REPORT, Columns 1732–3], are:

Devonport 10,603

The figures do not now include a total of approximately 200 assistant and temporary draughtsmen, who were previously included in the numbers, and who have now been transferred to salaried grade.

These figures relate to Vote 8 departments and are in correspondence with those given in reply to the hon. Member's question on 17th March, 1930 [OFFICIAL REPORT, column 1733], except that they do not now include about 53 assistant and temporary draughtsmen transferred to salaried grade.
