HC Deb 14 May 1930 vol 238 c1887W
Sir W. de FRECE

asked the Minister of Transport what is the estimated increase in the cost of the Dartford-Purfleet (Thames) tunnel as a result of the decision to construct it 55 feet below low water instead of 42 feet 9 inches; and whether any additional charge will be thrown upon the Road Fund in consequence?

Mr. HERBERT MORRISON

Until more detailed estimates are available and the negotiations with local authorities are more advanced, I am not in a position to give a revised figure or to state how the cost will be apportioned.
