§ Mr. MARLEYasked the Secretary of State for India whether the Government of India have issued any instructions to provincial Governments with regard to the prosecution of offenders engaged in civil disobedience; and, if so, what is the nature of the instructions?
§ Mr. BENNThe Government of India have been, and are, in constant touch with the provincial Governments on these matters. Action is to be taken against offenders under the ordinary law; and in the maintenance of public quiet such legal powers are exercised as are requisite and appropriate.
