§ Sir K. WOODasked the Minister of Health whether he can furnish any information giving typical instances of the rents which are now being paid in town and country of houses erected by local authorities under the Housing (Financial Provisions) Act, 1924?
§ Mr. GREENWOODParticulars of rents charged for houses provided under the Housing Act, 1924, are not furnished to my Department and I am, therefore, unable to give anything like an average figure of rent. I can say, however, that rents round about 7s. or 8s. a week exclusive of rates seem to be fairly common in town areas. Rents charged in country areas vary considerably and no general figures can, I am afraid, be given.
