§ Mr. HURDasked the Minister of Transport if his attention has been called to the strong objection taken by representative local bodies and residents to the proposal of the Wiltshire County Council to widen the Bath road between Hungerford and Beckhampton; whether he is aware that the proposal would spoil a beautiful and typical road stretch, including the approaches to Savernake Forest, without sufficient traffic or other necessity; and whether he will use his influence to ensure a reconsideration of the proposal in the light of local facts and opinions?
