§ Mr. LEES-SMITHNo proposal for the sale of Imperial Cables was put forward except as a necessary part of the scheme of fusion recommended by the Imperial Wireless and Cable Conference of 1928. The course of the negotiations and the origin of the proposal are described in the report of the Conference (Command Paper 3163).
