§ Mr. MACPHERSONasked the President of the Board of Trade if his attention has been called to the case of Mr. 1483W William Gschwind, a Swiss citizen, lately an export merchant in Manchester and resident during the War as a neutral in this country; if he is aware that the German Government confiscated Mr. Gschwind's property in that country as if it were the property of a British subject; and if he will give further consideration to Mr. Gschwind's claim to be treated in accordance with the accepted principles of international law and grant him compensation out of the realised enemy assets at his disposal?
§ Mr. W. GRAHAMThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. Any claim which Mr. Gschwind may have in respect of the sequestration of his property lies against the German Government.
