GRATTAN-DOYLEasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether any answer has been sent to the Japanese Government in reply to their complaint respecting the discriminatory effect on cotton goods of Japanese origin of the new Indian duties; and, if so, whether he will state the nature of the communication?
Mr. A. HENDERSONA note on this subject was recently received from the Japanese Government. The terms of the reply are at present under consideration.
