HC Deb 23 January 1930 vol 234 c352W
Mr. MILLAR

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will afford to the smaller burghs in Scotland an opportunity of considering the draft schemes relating to the administration of the transferred services under the Local Government (Scotland) Act, 1929, before these are finally approved; and what steps he proposes to take to obtain their views on the subject?

Mr. W. ADAMSON

As the small burghs are represented on the reconstituted county councils, who are responsible for the preparation of the administrative schemes, the town councils of these burghs will doubtless be kept informed of the proposals submitted, and I am prepared to consider any representations which they may timeously submit to me.
