§ Miss BONDFIELDWith regard to the first part of the question, I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given on 6th February to the right hon. Baronet the Member for Tamworth (Sir A. Steel-Maitland). With regard to the remainder of the question, the decision to dispense with the temporary clerks referred to was taken after consideration had been given to the work likely to be involved by the new Unemployment Insurance Act. These clerks have now been reallocated either to other branches of the Ministry or to other Government Departments, with the exception of three in whose cases there are special circumstances.
