Dr. MORGANasked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether it is the intention of His Majesty's Government to ask Lord Olivier to do all in his power to expedite the presentation of the Report of the recent West Indian Sugar Commission; whether the Report will be submitted to the House and printed as soon as possible; and whether the Government will announce their policy on this issue as soon as possible?
§ Dr. SHIELSLord Olivier and his colleague Mr. Semple have already submitted the whole of those parts of their Report which deal with the immediate situation of the West Indian sugar industry and their recommendations for its relief. His Majesty's Government will, of course, require a little time to consider their policy in a matter of such importance, but my hon. Friend may rest assured that there will be no avoidable delay either in this or in the submission of the Report to the House.
