§ Major SALMONasked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether, under the Regulations of the Service, an officer on the active list of His Majesty's Navy may publish books; and whether, if permission to do so be necessary, such permission was given in the case of the book called "Retreat," published under the authorship of an officer on the active list?
Mr. ALEXANDERThe Regulations do not require an officer on full pay to obtain Admiralty permission to publish a book unless it contains matter or information relating to the Naval Service.
