Major THOMASasked the First Commissioner of Works what is the object of the display of Russian propaganda posters in the Tea Room of the House of Commons; and whether he will have these posters removed to some place more suitable for a display of this nature?
§ Mr. LANSBURYThe hon. Member for Lambeth North (Mr. Strauss) on 3rd November asked for facilities for showing to Members of the House some posters he had recently brought from Russia. I decided that the best place for these to be shown during the present week was the Tea Room. The object2400W of the display of posters is to illustrate the nature of the steps taken by a foreign Government to influence public opinion. Permission has been given to exhibit a different series of posters on four successive days, each series to remain in position for one day only. The last part of the question does not therefore arise.
