HC Deb 02 December 1930 vol 245 cc2012-3W
Mr. P. OLIVER

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will instruct the Board of Inland Revenue to prepare and to include in their next report an analysis, according to categories of income, of incomes below the Super-tax level?

Mr. P. SNOWDEN

The hon. Member will find in Table 67 of the 64th annual report of the Commissioners of Inland Revenue (Command Paper No. 1436) particulars of the distribution of incomes below £2,000 for the year 1919–1920. Under the system of graduation and differentiation of the Income Tax introduced in the Finance Act, 1920, the statistics which enabled this classification to be made are no longer available, and the Commissioners point this out on page 79 of the report to which I have referred.
