HC Deb 02 December 1930 vol 245 c2003W
Sir K. WOOD

asked the Postmaster-General whether, having regard to the increase in the number of persons now resident in Eltham and district, he is making any special arrangement for postal and other facilities at Christmas?

Mr. LEES-SMITH

The arrangements made for dealing with the Christmas mails in the Eltham district include the provision of a temporary parcel office and of eight additional vans, and the engagement of 33 casual postmen for various periods between 12th December and 3rd January. From 20th December, until after Christmas, additional collection and delivery services will be afforded, and, in common with other parts of London, Eltham will have a parcel delivery on Sunday, 21st December.
