§ Mr. LINDLEYasked the Prime Minister if he has considered the request recently submitted to the Government by local councils, asking that powers should be conferred upon municipal corporations to enable them to establish municipal savings banks on lines similar to those on which the Birmingham Corporation bank is established; and if it is the intention of the Government to initiate, or afford facilities for, legislation to this end?
