HC Deb 31 October 1929 vol 231 c356W
Mr. DUNCAN MILLAR

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether, in view of the statement contained in the King's Speech that schemes are being prepared for the encouragement of the fishing industry and for the improvement of the facilities for the marketing of fishery outputs, it is intended to proceed immediately to deal with the urgent requirements of the industry without awaiting the deliberations and Report of the committee of inquiry into the condition of the industry which has just been appointed?

Mr. BUXTON

I can assure the hon. Member that no scheme already in hand will be interrupted and no work of unquestionable utility to the fishing industry which is within the competence of the Department will be postponed.
