asked the First Commissioner of Works what gifts have been made by private donors to the royal parks during the past 12 months; and whether his Department is prepared at all times to consider gifts of a similar nature?

I am circulating in the OFFICIAL REPORT, a list of gifts to the Royal Parks during the past twelve months. I am always pleased to receive such gifts, and am extremely grateful for them.

List of Gifts to the Royal Parks:

  • Sir Howard Frank, £5,000—Layout of exhibition ground, Hyde Park.
  • Mr. Louis Baron—Promise to defray cost of a pavilion in Regent's Park, in memory of his father, Mr. Bernhard Baron.
  • Government of Bermuda—500 lily bulbs.
  • British Minister, Bogota—Collection of seeds and bulbs.
  • British Consul, Shiraz—Collection of seeds and bulbs.
  • Mr. W. Watts—2,000 daffodil bulbs.
  • Duke of Bedford—6 cygnets, 18 Magellanic geese, 12 Canadian geese, 2 pairs Egyptian geese, 200 Amherst pheasants' eggs.

  • Earl of Athlone—2 pairs Egyptian geese, 4 South African sheldrakes.
