HC Deb 02 May 1929 vol 227 cc1730-1W

asked the Minister of Pensions whether his Department is stabilising the need allowances to elderly dependants of fallen soldiers who cannot anticipate any favourable change in their economic position; and, if not, whether he will consider doing so?

I am glad to be able to assure the hon. Member that the policy which he suggests has in fact for some time now been in practice in the Ministry. Already over 60 per cent. of the pensions of this class in issue to the aged parents and dependants of deceased ex-service officers and men have been stabilised.
