HC Deb 02 May 1929 vol 227 cc1734-6W
Sir P. GOFF

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, seeing that widows of 65 years and not in receipt of pensions and widows whose late husbands had been in receipt of pensions are unable to continue their husband's pensions on his decease, he will state what steps he is prepared to take in these cases?

Mr. CHURCHILL

I am not clear to what class of persons my hon. Friend refers, and I would remind him that con siderable provision has already been made for widows of 65 years and upwards by the Contributory Pensions Scheme.
