asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether any representations have been made to him by leading men in the Civil Engineer-in-Chief's Department, Devonport Dockyard, requesting that higher rates of pay be substituted; that increased sick leave with pay be granted; that successful candidates on appointment be immediately placed on the establishment of the Department; that they be represented on the administrative side of the Whitley Council; that the title inspector of works be substituted for their present title of leading men; and whether be can see his way to grant these requests?
