HC Deb 26 November 1928 vol 223 cc56-7W

asked the President of the Board of Trade the number of feature or long films made by British film-producing companies which have failed to comply with the necessary conditions as laid down in the Cinematograph Films Act, 1927, and accordingly cannot be termed, for the purpose of wholly complying with the conditions of this Act, British films?

Three films claimed as British have failed to satisfy the requirements of the Act as to what constitutes a British film, but of these only two were made by British companies within the meaning of the Act.
