asked the Minister of Health by how much the total assessments of land entitled to the 50 per cent. relief under the Agricultural Relief Act, 1896, has increased since the passing of the Act; and by how much in the aggregate the grants actually made to local authorities under that Act have fallen short of the rates lost to them?

The rateable value of agricultural land in England and Wales, according to the Valuation Lists in force at the date of the passing of the Agricultural Rates Act, 1896, was £24,565,058, and according to the Valuation Lists in force in April, 1927, was £25,978,762.
