£ March, 1928 … 1,689,700 June, 1928 … 1,446,600 September, 1928 … 1,245,500 The average numbers of persons ordinarily engaged in some regular occupation and their dependants to whom these amounts were distributed were 498,321, 438,320 and 381,089 in the respective quarters.
