The amounts paid by boards of guardians in England arid Wales, in out-relief in money and kind, to persons ordinarily engaged in some regular occupation and their dependants during each of the first three quarters of the present year were as follow:

The average numbers of persons ordinarily engaged in some regular occupation and their dependants to whom these amounts were distributed were 498,321, 438,320 and 381,089 in the respective quarters.
