asked the Minister of Labour the number of miners in receipt of unemployment insurance benefit at the Employment Exchanges of Airdrie, Bridgeton, Coatbridge, Hamilton, Motherwell and Wishaw, at the end of December, 1927, and the end of April, 1928?

Statistics showing the number of coal miners actually in receipt of benefit are not available, but the following statement shows the number of persons classified as belonging to the coal mining industry who had claims to benefit current at the dates mentioned.
