§ Earl WINTERTONThe total mileage of Indian Railways under construction on the 31st December, 1927, the latest date for which figures are available, was 3,243, of which 1,286 was on 5-ft. 6-in. gauge, 1,511 on the 3-ft. 3⅜-in. gauge and 446 on the 2-ft. 6-in. gauge. As regards the last part of the honourable Baronet's question, I have nothing to add to the reply which was given to him in answer to his question on the 16th June last.
