HC Deb 10 May 1928 vol 217 cc424-5W
Mr. S. MITCHELL

asked the Chanceller of the Exchequer whether the rat- ing relief to public works will be granted to industrial undertakings in Scotland not later than the relief promised to English works, namely, October, 1929; and whether the necessary Scottish legislation will be introduced simultaneously with the principal Bills and take effect at the same time?

Sir J. GILMOUR

The intention is that the rating relief to industrial undertakings should synchronise in the two countries, and this will be kept in view in framing the programme of legislation necessary to bring the scheme into operation.
