Mr. CHAMBERLAINThe number of houses completed by rural district councils in England and Wales up to the 1st March last were 92,532 under the Housing Act, 1923, and 24,525 under the Housing Act, 1924. The number of houses not exceeding £26 rateable value erected in rural districts without subsidy during the period from 1st April, 1923, to 30th September, 1927, the latest date for which figures are available, was 76,387.
