§ Colonel ASHLEYThe Colnbrook by-pass was opened to traffic on the 17th instant. The scheme was approved by my Department on 3rd September, 1925. Construction began in October, 1925. The approved estimates for the scheme amount to £246,400; the exact cost is not yet ascertained. The usual penalty clauses regarding unsatisfactory work and undue delay were included in all contracts relating to the scheme.
