Mr. CHAMBERLAIN103 temporary ex-service clerks are under notice to terminate their services. 109 temporary women clerks are still employed on work specially appropriate to women. 13,900 hours of overtime have been worked during the last three months. While it will not be practicable to dispense with the necessity for a certain amount of overtime for special and urgent work, and in the provincial offices, the amount of overtime required is now and will be substantially less than the weekly average of the last three months.
