§ Mr. STAMFORDasked the Home Secretary whether, in view of the lack of record of the number of persons convicted under the Hyde Park Regulations without legal defence, he will give instructions that in future such a record should be kept?
§ Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKSIn general, no records are kept, either by the Courts or the police, of the numbers of cases where defendants are not legally represented, and there do not appear to be sufficient grounds for making special arrangements with regard to persons convicted of the particular classes of offences alluded to.
