HC Deb 20 December 1928 vol 223 c3236W
Viscount SANDON

asked the Minister of Health what is the estimated sterling value of the consumption in this country of milk, flour, bread, cheese, eggs, meat, and potatoes, now, and in 1919, 1913, and 1900, in total, per head of population, per adult, and per male adult?

Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTER

I have been asked to reply. I regret that the information is not available.

Mr. JOHNSTON

asked the Minister of Agriculture what is the average annual consumption of ware potatoes in this country?

Mr. GUINNESS

I regret that I am unable at present to furnish an estimate, especially in the very limited time available. I would add, however, that it is hoped to publish at no distant date a report showing the consumption of various foodstuffs in Great Britain.
